Becca Wood is a licensed and certified occupational therapist and has been practicing in the pediatric field since 2002. Becca earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1996 and taught physical education in the Hoover City School system for three years before returning to graduate school in 2000. Becca completed pediatric internships with the Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs and UAB Sparks Clinics while earning her master’s degree in occupational therapy from UAB in 2002. Becca is certified in Sensory Integration from The University of Southern California and Western Psychological Services, and has also been certified through The Professional Crisis Management Association to provide Professional Crisis Management protocols as a Level 2 practitioner. Becca is joining Behavioral Pediatric Institute of Alabama after 13 years at Mitchell’s Place, where she served as Director of Outpatient Services and also provided direct occupational therapy services through both the Early Learning Program and Outpatient Services. She has tremendous experience in addressing fine motor, sensory, feeding, and self-help skills in a wide variety of settings, including in the school, home, clinic, and community.
Becca enjoys spending time with her family and being in the outdoors.
