Licensed Psychologist | Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctorate | Licensed Behavior Analyst

Dr. Stacy Ladden is a licensed clinical psychologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctorate (BCBA-D), and licensed behavior analyst. She co-founded the Behavioral Pediatric Institute of Alabama in 2012 with the mission of supporting children and families across the state.

Dr. Ladden earned her undergraduate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Texas at Austin before completing her doctorate in clinical psychology at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. She went on to earn her BCBA certification through Penn State University. Her clinical training included work at Early Intervention, Mitchell’s Place, Jewish Career and Family Services, and the Marcus Autism Center. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

After moving back to Birmingham in 2011, Dr. Ladden served as a staff psychologist and post-doctoral trainee at Glenwood, Inc. and Mitchell’s Place. Over the past 14+ years, she has developed extensive expertise conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, independent educational evaluations, and providing school consultation services statewide. She is also a skilled therapist, known for creating safety and connection while using evidence-based treatments. Dr. Ladden is trained in SPACE, an evidence-based approach for helping children manage anxiety through structured routines, gradual exposure, parental involvement, and positive reinforcement.

Her clinical interests include working with both typically developing children and adolescents as well as those with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, genetic and chromosomal disorders, ADHD, anxiety, and mood or behavior challenges.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ladden is an advocate for advancing services for children and families in Alabama. She served as secretary of the Alabama Behavior Analyst Licensing Board during its conception and is authorized to practice across state lines under PSYPACT. She is also a sought-after speaker, providing education and training to parents, schools, professionals, and community groups statewide.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Ladden is a wife and proud mother of three children, ages 4, 7, and 9. She enjoys running, fitness classes, and volunteering in her community.
